The Boston Celtics Smother Mavs All The Way To An NBA Title

Was it the Boston Celtics' dominant defense or another horrible night of shooting by the Dallas Mavericks that secured the Celtics this year's NBA title? Either way, it doesn’t matter, as the Celtics are the last team standing in the NBA this season.

Jayson Tatum had a monster game in the win, scoring 31 points, 9 rebounds, and 11 assists. His partner in crime, Jaylen Brown, scored 21, had 8 rebounds, and 6 assists as the Celtics closed out the Mavericks 106-88.

This is the Celtic's 18th NBA title and first in 16 years, as for the NBA Final MVP, that went to Jaylen Brown. Don't feel bad for Jayson Tatum, as he is about to sign a $315 Million dollar contract.

The game was basically over at halftime when the Celtics took a 67 - 46 lead into the locker room. The Celtics dominated the second quarter to push their advantage up to 21 points at the break. Jayson Tatum led the first half with 16 points, four rebounds, and nine assists, while Jaylen Brown had 15 points, and Jrue Holiday added 11 points and six rebounds in the first half.

The biggest play of the first half came at the very end when Payton Pritchard drilled a half-court shot to beat the buzzer and send the TD Garden into a hysteria. This is the second time in the series that Pritchard has hit a shot to end a quarter.

THE UNDERRATED OPINION

Simply put, the best regular season team, dominated the NBA Finals and walked away with NBA rings.
