According to multiple reports, the Miami Heat made the easy decision to resign Bam Adebayo to a three-year extension to stay with the team in the biggest no-brainer resignings of the off-season so far.
Last season, Adebayo averaged 19.3 points, a career-high 10.4 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.1 steals, and 0.9 blocks per game while shooting 52.8% from the field.
The max deal is reportedly worth $166 million. Adebayo will sign the extension with two years remaining on his current five-year, $163 million contract. This new agreement will keep Adebayo with the Heat through the 2028-29 season, marking his 12th year in the NBA.
Adebayo, 26, is coming off his second consecutive All-Star season and the third of his career. A seven-year veteran who has spent his entire career with Miami, Adebayo has become a cornerstone for a franchise that has reached the NBA Finals twice in the last five seasons.
Adebayo was a finalist for Defensive Player of the Year and was named to an All-Defensive Team for the fifth consecutive season, earning his first selection to the first team.
